The members of the Fraternity are constantly looking for men with a distinguished portfolio of professional achievement, community service, and personal development. Membership in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity is by invitation only. In order to be considered for membership, interested men must submit an application packet for review by a team of members. The team members will examine your qualifications, background,and character.
The membership intake process is conducted by intake-certified members whose principal task is to provide guidance and impart knowledge about the Fraternity to potential who are selected to participate in the Membership Intake Process. Additionally, the Membership Intake Team’s ultimate goal is to create a viable member by instilling a lifelong commitment to brotherhood, professional achievement, and the thirst for service through individual and collective work.

As an interested individual, you should be aware that there will be membership assessments and fees in addition to gathering the information and materials listed below:
A completed Membership Application
· Provide a copy of your college degree or college transcript
· Complete a Hold Harmless Form
· Letters of recommendation vouching for your character 2 – letters from professionals 1 – letter from a financial member of the Fraternity
· Your personal statement of interest
· Membership fees/assessments
The membership process does not include hazing, and the training is conducted in a classroom setting. PBS Anti-Hazing Policy
Collegiate membership in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity is limited to college men who are attending and working toward obtaining a baccalaureate degree at a recognized college or university and have completed at least one grading period and have obtained a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative GPA based on a four-point scale.
Alumni Membership in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity is limited to professional men who have been granted a baccalaureate degree or other degree by a recognized college or university.
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity candidates must not currently be a member of or have previously been a member of another intercollegiate fraternity other than an honorary or professional fraternity.
Each candidate for membership in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity must apply to a chapter in the respective region based on the terms and conditions outlined in the Fraternity’s membership intake and development process.
